DUST – Binaural Granular Synthesiser
DUST is not just another soft‑synth; it’s a binaural granular soundscape generator built on a real‑time particle simulation. Instead of oscillators or wavetables, each particle is a miniature granulator...

great fun but....
Really enjoying it and exploring. The only downside to the beautiful interface and graphics is that it rather GPU hungry and this means lock ups in my DAW (Live 12)., This meant keeping the interface open and knob twiddling was a bit of trial and error or, with the help of Grok AI some settings changing. I've upgraded the GPU now and will see how that helps.
Maybe a switch in the plugin to turn off the graphics would help.

Creating immersive sonic fields comes easy
Dust is a nice environment for creating immersive, living soundscapes, kinetic & engaging sound fx, and even mesmerizing musical beds. I wish there were more included impulse responses just to offer a few more enlightening examples (you can load any audio file you wish). It's greatest shortcoming to me is that it doesn't re-pitch samples according to the midi notes you play (you can use midi note info to affect other parameters). I feel I would find Dust a lot more useful in performance or creation if loaded samples were re-pitched according to midi note. (i know, "so traditional" but...) There's something that really bothers me about hearing the same note no matter what key I press - it sort of takes away the magic of hearing a sound re-pitched in a pure way, without having to dig into mapping parameters. Might be nice to have the initial length of a grain equal to the length of a loaded sample, and for playback to start at the beginning. Let me orientate myself first to the sample I loaded, and then I can start molding it into something kinetic and alive.

I was surprised…
I was surprised that something was such a small price tag. I could be so useful. But it is. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking something different and useful.
