Excellent Reel

I've been using these reels for a couple of months now and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I fish a minimum of 2 days each week and I won't fish with anything but what I consider to be top notch reels. The Vertex Contender fits into that group. It is very smooth, easy to adjust and a pleasure to use. I have four of them and I will probably purchase a couple more. I'm 75 years old and I started using casting reels in the late 1950s, so I have used many different shapes and brands of casting reels and this reel is one of my favorites.

I have been using Ardent reels for many years and this Contender is the finest reel I have ever used. Casts a country mile, extremely strong drag, it is designed to do one thing, be the best reel in your boat and it does that very well, very light and just a tremendous reel.
