Compass Hydro - Deep Sea

I bought the Melin Compass cap in Deep Sea specifically for a vacation and wore it in the pool for only a few hours. Almost immediately, dark staining appeared along the front panel seams and stitching. As the photos show, the discoloration follows the seam lines and looks like dye bleeding or a manufacturing defect. What makes this especially frustrating is that I also purchased the same hat in white and have had zero issues with it. That hat has performed exactly as advertised. The Deep Sea colorway, however, did not. I’ve tried gently rinsing the hat with fresh water, but the stains won’t come out. The water-resistant fabric that is supposed to be a feature actually seems to make it harder to clean. For a premium hat at this price point, I expected much better durability and quality control. A hat marketed for water use should not develop permanent stains after a single afternoon in a pool. Very disappointed.

Perfection

Okay here is the deal. I have many caps and quality. This is the first cap I have put on and it fit like a glove. The look to the feel is just Amazing. My only regret is that I don’t have more. That will change.

Great fit great hat

I love the fit of the compass, it suits me really well and it’s a really unique hue of blue. I like it a lot instantly one of my favorite hats.
