I thought this replacement screw set was a little silly at first, but then I used a plane this week that had the screws switched out and it was so much easier to adjust the frog and remove the blade. I was always worried with slotted screws that the tip of the screwdriver would slip and I would make bits and scrape marks in the screws. With these hex heads the driver skips right into the hex head screw and it makes for a quick and easy adjustment without worrying about damaging the head. Smalll price to pay to eliminate a constant worry.

Excellent upgrade!

Received two sets of these today for my #5-1/2 and #6 planes. Solid fits and makes for such easier and secure adjustments. I won't think twice now about moving the frog assembly to reduce tear out, because there is no fear of eventually damaging the old slotted screws Do yourself a favor and get the drivers too!

Nice Improvement

While I wouldn’t say this is a “must have”, this kit is a nice improvement that, along with the well designed Star Adjuster Wheel, greatly improves the ease of adjusting the frog and overall use of any hand plane.
