Surface Grinder Attachment

I'm really disappointed in this attachment. Housemade does not even make it, they just host it on the website. It appears to be assembled with whatever chunks of aluminum they had laying around, and for how heavy it is, it is very flimsy. All the working parts are the cheapest available. The contact wheel came to me out of round and had so much vibration it was unusable. Whoever makes this for housemade sent me a new wheel. That new wheel was better but still had a considerable amount of vibration. The slide does not stay parallel from one end of the stroke to the other and the in and out screw has tons of slop. The magnets come recessed into the face of the chuck causing it to suck thinner material down in those areas stopping you from achieving a flat surface. Had to grind the face down all the way to the magnets. You have to take extremely light cuts due to the amount of flex in this thing. It is usable with lots of fiddling and frustration.

Works very well! Very solid construction!!

This thing is a game changer. I highly recommend!!!
