Had my doubts about using this and similar products because I didn't want to be bulkier. Other products were meshy, zip up, and jacket-like. This product is made of a flexible nylon material. It was easy to install onto my vest. The 2.0 has sewn-in velcro so it is easier to attach to the provided stick on velcro patches. Cut the material to the shape of my vest and that was it. Wore it three days during some overtime shifts where I knew I always overheated. I couldn't immediately tell but I could see that there was sweat beading on the vents themselves. After my little trial period, I determined that I did indeed feel cooler that without the vents. How much cooler? I'm not sure. But if you're looking for something light and easy to install to keep you cool without looking like you're ready to go to a rave (zip up cooling systems), then this is probably for you.

Definitely does help with ventilation, and relatively easy to cut to size. The only "negative" would be that it is a little heavier than you may like since it's made of rubber - particularly if you get front and back panels. Also, the supplied velcro attachments don't seem to hold that well - had to get creative to help them stay in place, but not a big deal. Good product overall.

Only two shifts with it so far (highs in the upper 80’s) but I think it is helping and attaching it to my vest with the provided Velcro was easy. Comfort hasn’t been an issue. Highs in the 90’s the rest of the week I’ll try and update with more data.
