Grigia

Ordering from Gallery by Flo has been a truly premium experience. They have curated a beautiful selection of interesting artisanal fragrances, from which I selected Grigia by Maqueda – a stunning animalic ambergris and one of the finest "marine" scents I've ever smelled. The packaging in which I received my order was really lovely. It was thoughtfully presented and included several exceptionally generous gifts: by far the highest-quality presentation of an order from any perfume boutique I've purchased from. Thank you Flo! I will continue to check back here as I am curious to discover more of these well-curated scents out of the ordinary.

An astonishingly elegant and high-quality artisan perfume. Grigia, as the name suggests, is an ur-ambergris scent; one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of smelling. It presents enhanced versions of every facet of ambergris: the terpenic, gasoline-like top notes, the thick, syrupy, dried fruits and brandy booziness, the shimmering champagne-like effervescence, and the deeply comforting salt-on-leather animalic dry down. Care has been taken not to overwhelm the idea of ambergris, but to enhance its presence with other quality materials. A very natural-smelling narcotic jasmine plays an important role here. This perfume is somewhat singular; I don't have a lot of references that smell similar to this. A few distantly-related selections of quality might be Les Indemodables Ambre Supreme, Affinessence Musc-Ambre Gris, or Anonim Golden Ambergris. Stunningly gorgeous, this is the high art of artisanal perfumery. I will be looking to acquire a full bottle of this.

Nice perfume ,elegant and refined, with excellent quality. It’s smooth and approachable, yet clearly designed for someone with a more experienced taste in niche perfumery.
