Solid crop
Just finished pulling the spent plants yesterday. Peas germinated quite well - I planted 2 to a hole before the last frost and I think just about all of them sprouted. Plants grew about 5ft tall on support, and even with less rain than normal and wildly changing temps in my 7b place I got a heavy harvest for a few weeks. Taste was sweeter with slightly less crunch than a sugar snap - it felt more concentrated. I ate a bunch roaming the garden fresh, blanched and froze a bunch for stir-fries, and at the end when the pods were bursting, shelled and ate the peas fresh! Very versatile. I probably could have gotten another flush with fertilization, but the heat is here and I pulled them out for beans I also got from MI Gardener.

Eating the goodies already. Despite the deer taking the first tops they have hung in there and are producing like crazy.

Nicely it grows, tasty sweet my precious!
This year I used up seeds from last year that I bought from MIG. These peas are so tasty!!! Our weather in zone 7a, CT is just nuts again this season. Heat wave, near freezing the next week, then drenching near tropical storm weather, and back to near 30s the last few days. These guys are still out there and growing tall. Just saw flowers on them today! These peas are my little treat for all the hard work out there. Will be ordering more!
