Love my cream colored stand mixer
Finally put the stand mixer to use. I made Irish soda bread and it worked amazingly. So much easier than mixing with a spoon…… no more aching and tired arm. Looking forward to using it again. Love it !

Things to know before (and even after) you buy.
Anything you can mix, fold, or beat in a bowl with a spoon VERY EASILY is the most Dash can handle. If you are thinking of downsizing from a full-sized stand mixer, have a small kitchen, make smaller batches, sample recipes, or looking for a first stand mixer, keep shopping. (More Later) Stand mixer functions on average take 3-7 minutes to complete and some recipes need more than one stand mixer function. Dash, takes longer than average time. Dash ONLY in their manual states the unit should NOT be used for more than 10 minutes. (This fact should be fully disclosed before someone purchases!) Dash fails to incorporate all ingredients without scraping and overworks dough. Dash only handles wet doughs to combine, you will have to finish by hand. (This includes bread dough; a quality stand mixer will go to soft ball stage.) Dash whisking takes very long, not impressed. Tried several personal recipes successfully made with quality full-sized or hand-held mixers or by hand; Dash did not perform well, did not finish the job, and even final product affected in some cases. As mentioned, Dash WARNS not to use for more than 10 minutes in manual, but fails to disclose that fact upfront when a potential buyer is shopping and deciding. If you buy from them, you are stuck as returning is not cost effective. Also, they cannot seem to agree on wattage; 300 watts on unit, think it may be lower per performance. The manual also says it is not a toy. Was this added because when you attempt to use it, you will find yourself saying, this is a toy! …. Bye Dash. More Later - There are other brands in compact size. Mini-Angel came up 2nd in a review of 16 stand mixers and was the only compact; Vikaluz has a spinning bowl with beaters moving side to side and is removable as hand-held unit; others offer 2 sizes of SS bowls, and some have a different design. For full-size, Hobart created the KitchenAid (two sizes) for household use; it was Very Good. Hobart makes commercial mixers. They sold KitchenAid household to Whirlpool in the 1980’s; latter cut corners but flooded market on reputation Hobart created. Not personally familiar with Cuisinart for mixers; very good for food processors. Breville has a very good stand mixer. They started the rubberized folding attachment and other innovative useful changes. I see at least in the UK they sell one that melts butter and chocolate. Better baking results and no health hazards of nuking. PastriesLikeAPro website has a great and informative review on Breville stand mixer no matter your baking needs. It can also handle small batches; even whisks 2 egg whites. Finally, Breville has a good article on when a hand-held mixer or a stand mixer is the better choice.

Small Stand Mixer
I love the small size of this versatile stand mixer. It fits perfectly in our RV. I’m also pleased that you can make small batches of yeast dough. With arthritis in my hands I can no longer knead doughs the old fashioned way!
