Rattan, Daybed, and Kindling are all bangers for me. I wanted to give this one a try because it sounded sophisticated and unique. To its credit, the candle itself is of great quality. Nice, even burning. Strong throw. Super potent. But oh my god it smells like a fancy department store dressing room and I can't take it. If that is your vibe, by all means, indulge. But when I'm trying to wind down after a long day, I don't need a scent that puts me in the headspace of trying on a fabulous gown with an extra zero or two more than I can afford on the price tag. If you like the olfactory sensation of "just checking" that beautiful designer handbag and quietly putting it down once you realize it costs more than your entire paycheck, then this one's for you.

I love unplaceable complex scents; this has been a favorite of mine since 2022. My husband and I had our wedding reception in our house, and this scent was burning all that day (I intentionally picked it for the occasion — layers of earthy groundedness, non-sugary sweetness, and a sparkly spicy je ne sais quoi felt symbolic and perfect), so it’s packed with happy memories too. Please never stop making it!

I want to swing from the Chandelier
I adore the scent of this candle. It’s leathery and warm, and the saffron shines through as well. It brings me to a fancy soirée in the cooler months, sitting in front of a gorgeous fire. Otherland’s candles are long-lasting, the wax resets smoothly, and the scent throw is soft, not in-your-face. My only wish is that the scent was actually a bit stronger as it tends to disappear in large rooms—it’s the only reason I give four stars instead of five.
