I’ve never been a popcorn fan—it just never swayed me, you know? Plus: the fake butter soaked stuff you get at the movies disincentivized me. Then a guy local to me mentioned this AMAZING Canadian popcorn + joy alchemist, Richmond Popcorn. With praise like that I had to try. Well. ‘Try’ is not the appropriate verb! ‘Inhale’, ‘disappear’, ‘snack with delerious enthusiasm’ are all more accurate. You know how you buy fancy popcorn from some place and most of it is pretty good, though the odd piece is naked? None of Richmond Popcorn’s popcorn is sent out into the world undressed. And each piece is sent out wearing layers of swanky flavour innovation. I’m not sure I would have believed so much talent could be displayed on a canvas of popcorn. All the stars—not just five.
