Great Upgrade
Frankly ... the original time timers seemed to break a lot for us. This is way more durable and portable. My kids interact with it more (and love the alarm music ... they dance to it).

Great timer
This is my first Time Timer and I really love it! It's not as cute as some of the other models and doesn't really fit my aesthetic, but it's functional and I like that it's waterproof. What sold me on it though is that it's rechargeable. I'm not great at keeping batteries on hand or remembering to replace them. Not sure how long a single charge lasts but I haven't had to charge it in a few days and I use it roughly 3-4 times per day for 30-60 minutes at a time. Also, it can be used while charging so I don't have to worry too much about not being able to use it when I need it just because I forgot to charge it ahead of time. I also really like that the alarm is a softer sound and can be turned low, high or off. Overall this has really been helping with my time blindness.

Preset times are very convenient; power off alert is annoying.
Good: - Being able to configure preset times is very convenient. Almost everything we time is one of three times. This is the reason we bought this one instead of a twist (we are replacing a twist that stopped working after three or four years of heavy use including falling off the desk countless times) and are not disappointed. - The display is easy to read. - We don't use it much, but the option to time seconds is nice. - The alert when it finishes is a pleasant tune. Less good: - When we do want another time, holding the +/- the right length of time feels a little awkward (pressing once changes it by only seconds). If we actually needed this more I might get used to it. - Not a big deal, but it feels like more button presses than it should be to start time timer: first the power button on the back, then a preset on the top, and then the start on the front. - The legs are squeaky when adjusted. This and the +/- issue are my child's only real complaints about the timer. - It makes a beep when it auto powers down. It's a perfectly pleasant beep, but the fact that it's an alert always gives me a split second of anxiety that there's something I'm supposed to be doing that I didn't know about. There is no reason that "You left the timer on and it's taking care of its battery itself" should be an alert. This is my only real complaint about the timer. Neutral: - The one minute warning beep sometimes feels useful and sometimes feels like a gratuitous alert. There's no way to configure this.
