■　筑前津屋崎人形巧房　■
博多から海岸伝いに東へ約２０キロの所に位置する港町津屋崎。
良質な陶土が採れるこの土地で、江戸中期に生活土器をつくり始めたのが津屋崎人形の起源だそうです。
その後、しだいに素朴で温かみのある人形や動物を２枚型でつくるようになり、現在では、この筑前津屋崎人形巧房がその伝統を受け継いでいます。

巳は胎児の形から派生した文字で「産まれてくる」「将来・未来がある」などといった意味があります。
蛇は脱皮し、それを繰り返して成長していく生き物です。そこから蛇には「再生する力」や「無限の可能性」のイメージがあります。
