So much easier and faster than brewing in kitchen. Heavy built kettle and stand, combined with wort chiller made brewing Cream Ale all grain, a breeze!

Brewed twice with this new system. Kettle is heavy duty and a good size, but maybe a bit small for full 5 gallon boil. Also wish the etched markings were a bit darker as they are hard to see at various angles. The Dark Star burner is a nice upgrade for me and worked great once the air mix was dialed in. Wort chiller works great and makes cooling wort much faster. All in all a good package.

Go Bigger

The kit is fine, and the Kettle is nice. Go bigger. An 8 gallon pot was not nearly enough to brew a high gravity oatmeal stout. My mistake. New 15 gallon pot is on the way, 8 gallon is now my HLT. The Burner has worked flawlessly and was easily dialed in - no black marks on the bottom of the kettle. It took about 25 minutes to boil 7 gallons of room temp water. Wort chiller works well - especially when combined with a submersible pump inside a cooler of ice water. I will not recommend because I believe an 8 gallon kettle is just too small. That being said, 4 stars because the quality is there. Northern brewer makes decent stuff.
