I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much. French Roast in a Chemex with a standard grind isn't exactly the 'recommended' setup, but I was out of my usual coarse grind and just went for it. Turns out it was one of the best cups I've had in a while. Deep, smoky flavor without that harsh burnt aftertaste you get with a lot of dark roasts. Brewed clean, no bitterness. I've since ordered two more bags.
