This was the right choice!

This bike is perfect in every way, except that we didn’t love the assembly instructions. That part was confusing, but now that it’s assembled my daughter is enamored with it. It is the perfect size for her, which is great because I was originally looking at the C 20, until a helpful associate advised me of the correct model for my daughter’s measurements. The bike is solid, such high quality, and obviously the most gorgeous thing. She loves the little extras—the basket to carry her toys, her adjustable matching “rainbow helmet” as she excitedly shouted when she opened it—I do regret not buying her the bell but also I do not regret not buying her the bell. Maybe she can get a bell in a couple of years for her birthday or something when she’s less likely to ring it obsessively at all waking hours. We just have too many feelings about noise-making toys in this house. I’m psyched that this bike will last her many years to come and can be passed to her brother eventually, and I’m already eyeing adult bikes for us!

birthday gift

Bought the 16" bike for my daughter's 5th birthday, she's 50th percentile in height and weight for her age, and the bike fits perfect!!! There's a lot of room for her to grow for at least 1-2 years, which makes me happy as some other 16" bikes she tried out there wasn't much room for growth. We tilted the handle bars slightly toward her for now, and can straighten them up as she grows - seat is also adjustable so you can put it up and down plus forward and backward. I hate to buy a bike un-riden/unseen, but the 30 day return guarantee pushed me over the edge - and you really can't just go to a store to find a bike like this - it's so unique. The build at home wasn't too bad - instructions seem like they are for an former version of the bike so it wasn't an exact fit, but totally do-able for anyone with a bit of talent with tools - took my husband about 30 min, would have taken me 2 hours but I could have gotten it done! The yellow color is AMAZING - she gets compliments everywhere we go - truly the bike every 5 year old would love.

Great Quality, Well Built Bike

I've been involved in biking since early 80's freestyle & BMX scene to mountain & road riding and I build my own bikes down to lacing wheels. I purchased my first PUBLIC bike for my 5 year old who just learned how to ride and was very impressed with the craftsmanship and quality of her bike. Shipping was extremely fast, CA to FL, and I threw in on my bike stand and had it together in 10 minutes. She absolutely loves her bike, she's a happy girl! She can't wait to get the Nantucket Kids Basket for it once you guys have it back in stock!
