Amazing amp, but a rough start...
OK, I love this amp. Everything works very well. I was actually blown away because I use an appleTV and figured I'd have to run an HDMI cable - so I hooked up via AirPlay2 just for kicks. Mind blown. My SONOS Arc now is just a thing hanging on my wall. It is perfectly in sync, and sounds incredible. Shocked. I have it paired with a Denon DP-3000ne and Bowers & Wilkins 704 S3s. I'd say about a perfect match. Some things I'd like to see if possible in firmware updates: 1) Startup volume reset. As it is, best make sure to turn volume down before shutting down. 2) Remote. It's lovely and well made. BUT - the buttons are way too small as is the text below them. Also, no Tone controls on the remote. Big miss. 3) Too many buttons. Would like fewer, larger buttons and tone controls. 4) Backlit keys would help a lot! My bad story... My first unit and all the other parts were here for about a week while we painted the house indoors. So I had to patiently wait to setup and start enjoying. I had it all working for maybe 4-5 days and the Marantz 40n died! I tried all the troubleshooting tips and finally resolved that it was dead (I do have an expensive surge suppressor and the room is a newer build). Called up and emailed Audio Advice - was using Michael as he had helped me a lot before the sale. Michael literally cross-shipped me a new unit that day - FRIDAY! It got here the next Monday so I was only without amp for 2.5 days! Incredible. I then shipped mine back... The new unit has been flawless. Audio Advice was over the top before and after the sale. I am a fan for life. I would add that you need to give this breathing room. She gets warm. I have a bluetooth temp monitor and after running a couple hours on higher volume, it was mostly in the high 90ºs but peaked at 102º for a minute. That's why I'm not putting it inside of the cabinet. Overall, big thumbs up. I spent over a year researching and reading and decided I had to jump in or I'd never enjoy any of my new vinyl. I feel the combination is just about perfect for my space. Possibly, I may add a subwoofer for lower volumes, but I'm still breaking in...
