Only crushes one clove at a time and still leaves a lot of flesh uncrushed. The holes need to be sharp to work more effectively. If you crush two or more cloves it just slips over the remaining uncrushed flesh and presses it into the chopping board rather than through the device.

Sturdy, appears well made. Larger cloves have to be halved before this will adequately mince them. From the pictures this appeared larger than it actually is, handy for doing small amounts, but if you have a lot to mince, a sharp knife is faster.

You need to chop the garlic into smaller pieces and use a fair bit of pressure to crush the garlic. But I haven’t used this style before so maybe that’s normal?
