Michell GyroDec Motor replacement
I contacted Mike vis email and phone conversation about a replacement motor for my early generation GyroDec Turntable. Mike responded immediately to my email. My original GyroDec motor used a dual belt drive from the motor, all newer models use only the one belt. Mike quickly confirmed with Michell manufacturing that the newer motors will work with the older platters, only one belt is required. I ordered the motor and received within two days (I'm also located in Maryland). I installed the new motor, no soldering wires were required, as Mike had mentioned soldering is required after fishing the wires thru the original housing. The new motor was loose in the original housing. I contacted Mike and sent him photos of my original motor and housing. Mike was very responsive; he noted that my GyroDec was a very early model, and he had not seen this type of motor with an open bottom housing. We discussed a few options to possibly adhere the new motor in the original housing or use a shim. I decided to just use a sticky back mailing label trimmed around the edge of the motor which worked just fine in helping to hold the new motor. The new motor is working great. I would highly recommend Mike. He was very responsive to all my questions and very helping with me and my installing the new motor.
