Generator to protect and provide power to PC's
My wife and I started looking in to getting a generator to provide power and to protect our PC's from power surges and outages at home.
We looked at reviews for several different generators from different sources and one name kept coming up with great reviews and that name was Jackery. So we decided after looking at the Jackery line up of products to go with the Explorer 5000 plus.
After a short learning period we learned we had to take our PC's off of the UPS's during power outages and plug directly in to the Jackery. Now we don't worry when storms move in to our area.
Great product! We just love it!

Good product.
I have known about Jackery for over a decade. My company gave a christmas gift of a small USB charger. I thought no big deal. That was the only USB charger that i used even today. It was amazing. When i thought about a back up battery for my hone, I thought of Jackery. I am pleased with the Explorer 5000 for the most part. I bought a 5000 battery and 500W solar a week later.
The Good: I have a 2800sf home and the Explorer powered the house for 10 hours. That was good enough for me. So I bought the extra battery pack and solar and that has increased the capacity to about 24 hours with a recharge every 3-4 days on solar.
The Cons: The battery threw an error code after the first use. Tech support helped me through it and pushed a firmware update the next day. No issues since then. Also, the solar panels are a bit flimsy. If you are mounting then, know that they need a sturdy frame. I am sure they are fine with the hinges provided, but i put them on my roof. I dont think they recommend that. I will figure out the long term effects of doing that. I have not called them to discuss technical issues based on my first call for tech support. The CSR was on a script and felt the technical information i desired would not be available.
In general, i am happy with the purchase even though it seems a bit expensive. (I can afford it) It has only been two weeks so I may update this review later.

Internet problem
I love it. The only problem i have found is if I lose internet, when it comes back I have to disconnect the solar, and power cycle the jackery 5000 plus to get it back online.
