Pockets are ridiculously small!

It arrived fine, but it is poorly designed. The pockets are so small they are essentially useless. I bought a tiny water bottle with this in mind, and it doesn’t fit. I can’t even get my phone to fit!!! What am I supposed to use these tiny pockets for? The straps are also barely large enough for me on the largest setting, and I am an average size adult male.
