UPDATE: Increasing stars: 1) Most of the insects made it to adulthood 2) Not the CS's team's fault that their training didn't cover this type of issue (in an email back to me after I wrote the review, they said this issue "wasn't covered in their manual"). Still frustrating, but not CS's fault. 3) They sent me replacements. Would rather have an answer, but CS told me they just didn't know and this was the only option they had to make it right. ORIGINAL: The ladybug larvae do not come with enough food to last from the larval stage to the pupal stage. Contacted customer service multiple times over 3-4 days to get advice on what else I could feed them (or even reassurance that this was ok) and got stuck in an automated loop without reaching a human that could help. My larvae have gone 4 days without food but before turning into pupae (when they don't need to eat) and have stopped moving. I'm hoping they are about to turn into pupae but it's also possible they've all passed.

This was a gift for my 7 yo granddaughter. I think she got 9 butterflies, but none of the ladybugs made it. So it was a partial success. All in all, I think it's great for young kids!

This was a great experience, the children enjoyed being responsible for the insects and letting them free was magical.
