beautiful belt, possible manufacturing defect

Lovely belt but there's a slit cut up the entire inside of the belt. Not sure if it's intended, but it's a perfectly straight cut the entire inside length - I can't imagine why it would be designed this way, as having that seam on each of the holes is going to make the belt much less durable
