the back ankle area zips up and both of my ankles are scraped and scabbed now from wearing but have worn them multiple times and only irritated my ankles the first time..I'm a 7.5 so I sized up a half size due to the back zip up..love this brand but not for everyone..you need truly love wearing platforms and takes time getting used to if you don't wear at least once a week..

Really sexy shoe. Good support. Couldn't close the zipper though due to back straps being short / tight.
