On the fence, but overall good for some hair types.

I have short, medium thick, wavy hair. Pros: very clean and natural product in a world full of greenwashed marketing. The smell is great and the ingredients are quality and match what is advertised. This is great. Cons: The bottle wasn’t filled to top when I opened it. I’m not sure if it’s a full 10oz but would expect it to be full at the price point. It takes quite a few pumps to get a lather and I imagine I will run through this very fast. It requires 3-4 pumps minimum to full coat or lather the hair. Lastly, The conditioner could be much more moisturizing. I like the ingredients but there isn’t a smooth, soft feeling after the rinse at all.. Unfortunately it leaves a bit of residue at my roots that I can feel when dry, which is something I want to avoid at all costs. This causes oily looking hair after one wash and prevents shampoo from easily washing the hair next use. Overall this is probably better suited for thinner hair. Even with my shorter hair, I don’t think it could continue to buy when I run out because of how much product needs to be used each wash.

Impressed

My hair has been dried out and stringy. I couldn’t find a non toxic product that would help. I tried captain and wow I’m impressed. My hair is back to being soft, knots are gone and it actually looks healthy again. I’m not even through my first bottle of shampoo and conditioner yet.

Love the smell

I think this is a lovely shampoo. My hair feels balanced after washing instead of that stripped feeling where your wet hair almost feels like a different material altogether…like squeaky almost. I know you all know what I’m saying! Anyway, this shampoo cleanses and let’s my hair be hair, and I love it. Also, the scent is fabulous. Clean and citrusy, not too overpowering. Great formula, Captain Blankenship! The ethos, and commitment to sustainability, of the company seals the deal for me though.
