It doesnt say in the instructions it needs to be seasoned. I would highly recommend doing so. It can run a tad hot, with a hot spot. Once you kinda figure it out, it works good. It has a lil bit of weight to it as well.

I was pleased to see just how stout this grill top is. I seasoned it just as I do my cast iron pans and, although I have yet to use it, I feel it will perform well.
