Lightweight, Trail-Ready Shelter Perfect for Scout Backpacking Trips
The Sanctuary SilTarp has been an excellent addition to our troop’s backpacking gear. It is impressively lightweight, making it easy for scouts to carry without adding unnecessary weight to their packs for Philmont. For backpacking trips where every ounce matters, this tarp strikes a great balance between durability, coverage, and portability. The size is just right for our troop’s needs. It provides plenty of shelter space for cooking areas, gear protection, or a quick rain cover, while still packing down small enough to fit easily into a backpack. It is simple to set up, versatile in the field, and dependable when the weather turns. Overall, the Sanctuary SilTarp is a fantastic choice for scout backpacking trips. Lightweight, practical, and perfectly sized, it has quickly become one of those pieces of gear we are glad to have with us on the trail.

Light
The material is super light and taped on the seams. It is the same material (possibly) as the TarpTent ultralight packing tents. No idea how it will withstand a week or two as a canopy at a base camp. Guess we’ll see

12' X 10' Flat SilTarp - Initial Impressions
I don't know if I will have the ability to amend this review at a later date, once I have used the tarp for a while, but I set it up in an A-frame cofiguration with a ridge line and two trees, and also with my newly-purchased adjustable poles too. I impressed by the tarp's quality. Plenty of loops to properly tension it after initial setup. Very thoughtful of Paria to include Dyneema guy lines and Y-stakes with the tarp. However, for the size of tarp that I purchased, more guy lines and Y-stakes would be helpful, since the included number of them are insufficient for the number of loops on the tarp, and this observation is only focused on the number of loops on the sides of the tarp. Not the tarp's entrance or exit ends. I wouldn't have had an issue paying a few more dollars to have the required number of guy lines and Y-stakes included with the tarp. I am a newbie to the use of a tarp, and have yet to use the tarp as I intend to, but I will soon. I hope to be able to provide more information later with an update.
