I was replacing handrail brackets that probably were installed when our house was built in 1976 only because I wanted to go from shiny brass finish to oil rubbed bronze. I was surprised to see how light yours were compared to the originals. Each original weighed about four times more. I decided to paint the originals and reinstall them. Before deciding to repaint I stopped at local Lowes to see what they had. Their product was pretty close to yours in terms of weight. Maybe that is new standard. When I contacted your customer service they offered a partial refund which I thought was fine because returning them would not be worth time and shipping charges.

They are a good looking bracket. The only problem we are having is that the screws are to small. They strip out very easily. We are having to substitute the screws out with larger screws.
