One Night Ultimate Alien

I really like this game!

Social deduction and logical reasoning might not be everybody's forte, but this game is still a lot of fun! Playing with the app provides a lot of replayability and randomness to keep people on their toes or toe-like appendages.

Nice addition to a fun and thriving game series

If you enjoyed the previous game versions, you'll love this addition. Unique roles make for perpetually new and exciting interactions. My group and I try to mix roles from other games, and it's a blast discovering the various possible exchanges. I certainly recommend this game.

A surreal landscape

One Night Ultimate Alien stands out as one of the most unique entries in the One Night franchise. Pretty much all of the characters play wonderfully with each other. I think that the Cow is one of the most elegantly designed characters in the game, together with the Mortician. Together, they fill a niche that I never thought existed before. One of the main departures from the other games in the series is that the app is now mandatory to play the game, however this is not a detraction, but rather an enhancement. The app introduces randomness to characters that was not possible before, as well as one character (the Oracle) whose job is to interact with the app. However, one of my major gripes with this is that the random events are not clarified anywhere in the rules. The other gripe is that if there is no oracle in play (or if the oracle chooses not to press anything on the app, or lies to the app), the app will announce something that is potentially highly misleading or unclear. This game also mashes with the old ones really well, bringing some of the werewolf/vampire madness to this distinctly alien playing field. Overall, a great experience, highly recommended, in spite of the uncertain rules at times.
