Fierce, interesting, personal, political. With a way to understand food as a sum of all these. The recipes that permeate the book include personal favourite on how to cook kippers, a failure I’d put in motion by thinking a frying pan was the only other ingredient. Worth going to collect in its current bookshop, window display and brilliant lunch restaurant, an ode to doing things in a manner that actually works for proprietor and curious meal eater alike. Highly recommended.
