Melancholy Vibes
If you like small scale stories, there’s little out there that strips it down further than this. Just lovely.

A unique niche delight
Tyler Taormino is one of the best young filmmakers out there, and this is his first masterpiece. It's a great release with a good booklet and strong special features, including a short film, which I always love. It's not for everyone (a rambling plot and deadpan humor) but it's unique.

Minimalist drama
Happer’s Comet is a hypnotic, minimalist experiment in mood and movement. Shot almost entirely at night and without spoken dialogue, the film drifts through a suburban landscape where people glide silently on rollerblades, scooters, and bikes, creating a strange, dreamlike portrait of nocturnal life. Director Tyler Taormina leans into abstraction—there’s no traditional plot, just a series of loosely connected vignettes that capture loneliness, routine, and the odd beauty of people moving through the dark. The result is strangely captivating: part urban poem, part ambient cinema, and part observational art piece. It’s a film that rewards viewers who enjoy atmosphere over narrative, offering a quiet, haunting look at the rhythms of a community after everyone else has gone to sleep.
