Inaccurate, short battery life, and charger failed after first use.

Very disappointed with this beam so far. I could never get the beam to properly calibrate my new SPARX machine so had to go to the use the looking glass calibration tool provided with the machine to recenter the grinding wheel. Decided this morning to try to calibrate the SPARX beam itself, but the battery was low. When I it set it on the SPARX charging pad it would not start charging. Tried two different power supplies and two different cables, but the only way I can charge it is with another wireless charging pad. It is possible I just have a bad unit, but this beam seemed to hurt more than help,

Confidence, Consistency, and Professionalism

I really like the way the Beam integrates with the app. At first it almost feels redundant or unnecessary once you already have your machine aligned and dialed in, but after using it I totally get the value. The adjustment suggestions are super helpful, especially the recommendations for how many turns to make on the grinding ring position. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of fine tuning the machine. I honestly feel like anyone serious enough to own a Sparx machine should probably have one. Especially if you sharpen for teammates, friends, or clients. People genuinely appreciate seeing the app hit .0000 and knowing their blades were checked properly and cared for. It adds a level of confidence and professionalism to the whole process.

Ease

Sharpener is easy use. we made sure to read directions all the way through, and we couldn't be happier with the continued great results we continue to get. We also liked the fact that in between games we could touch up the skates. Very nice.
