Edge 540

Poor instructions

The Garmin 540 was easy to setup and interface with the Garmin Varia taillight. The Display accurately depicted each vehicle approaching from the rear. The layout is easy to see for most sunlight conditions and the data downloads are quick and hassle- free.

Vast improvement over the Edge 520 but . . .

This a a great improvement over the Edge 520. The screen is slightly larger and it's far easier to read. Like the 520 it syncs with the Garmin Varia taillight with the improvement that it incorporates sound into the alert that traffic is approaching from the rear. The rear approaching display is also much easier to see. My major complaint is that the documentation is awful. Want to know how to sync the computer with the heart rate speed sensor, cadence sensor or taillight? Go figure it out. Want to change the screen? Go figure it out. The bottom line, it is a great computer but the documentation is terrible
