Overall, I like this wall mounting bracket, but this statement does have a couple of caveats. First, the good points: It's a sturdy mount, once fully assembled. It is all stainless steel... no rusting, no peeling coatings, nice! Rated for up to 600 pounds, much higher than most, so it gives me a greater feeling of "trust" than with lesser rated brackets. Simple design, reasonably easy to assemble. Now, the less than good points: Although mostly adequate, some of the stainless hardware included is (or at least mine was) a bit dubious. Some flat and lock washers are oversized, far too big for the bolts and nuts they are supposed used with. Also, many of the lock washers are those skinny little ones that always seem inadequate, not up to the job. I used some of the included parts, but bought other stainless hardware to replace those bits I felt were sub-par. Next, the only actual wall-mounting hardware included are stainless sleeve anchors. That's OK if you are mounting to concrete, cement block, etc., but if you are mounting this onto a framed wall, you'll be buying other hardware. So now, speaking of framed-wall mounting, another caveat: This mount, like most all others commonly available, has a maximum width of around 29", which doesn't allow for mounting onto a frame wall with standard 16" stud spacing, no matter how you configure it. Not wide enough to bridge three studs at 32", probably not stable enough at only 16", and I wasn't going to try. Perhaps they don't want to accommodate anyone mounting it to a framed wall, but I have 2x6" framing and wanted to. So the answer? Replace their two stainless U-channel cross bars (which are not long enough) with two pieces of Uni-Strut wide enough to accommodate that 32" stud spacing. It's sturdy stuff, stronger than the stainless channels that are included, and reasonably inexpensive. Just cut it to length. Of course, that necessitated buying even more stainless hardware. This Uni-Strut isn't stainless, it's galvanized, but I can live with that. The only other point to make here is that for some reason once mounted on a vertical/plumb wall, this bracket has a very distinct backwards tilt. Perhaps that is a design feature to ensure good condensate drainage, but I found it visually just a bit bothersome. To help compensate, the front mounting bolts were run down a bit further, compressing the vibration pads more at the front than the rear. That helped a bit, but there's still a slight backwards tilt to the unit. Alternately, you could also add some spacers at the rear mounts. Final notes here: When you start assembling this mount, it is just a bit fiddly, but put it all together loosely at first, before tightening all the nuts and bolts up. Also, use Anti Seize on all your hardware, because the stainless threads gall and seize up easily if you don't! Overall though, it made for a solid mount, quite adequate for the job!
