Excellent choice from jazz to rock to "light" heavy metal

This is the second pair of Rocksongs that I buy, those finished a a DC Les Paul/PRS partscaster I built myself. They are on of the most underrated pickups of this type , a cross between a SD Alnico II Pro and a Custom Custom. High output enough to play Van Halen with a Marshall head and a Boss DS1, perfectly at ease with Slash tones, but also very good clean sound. The neck pickup is in particular magnificient to get some Santana sound. While they are high output they are not the most suitable pickups to play high gain metal like Metallica or Pantera, but they do classic rock like Led Zeppelin and Aetosmith VERY well. As written before you with lots of gain you can get a quite good brown sound. The only complaint is that I ordered a set of reverse zebra and I got a reverse and a zebra...not sure if it was intentional to mimic Slash's and Eddie's mismatched set, however I didn't bother to ship them back. Overall if you have a LP /PRS style guitar and you want more gain than vintage PAFs but you want the Alnico II "round" tone these might be for you!

The best pickups for that late 70s early 80s rock

Let me start by saying, these will get you close to that "brown" sound if that's what you're aiming for. They react very well with gain, offering a well rounded crunchiness while still being very articulate. They are similarly specked to the bridge humbuckers on EVH guitars, so it makes perfect sense that they can get. You there at a fraction of the price! Tonerider pickups are definitely going in my next guitar!

Fantastic sounding

Great sounding pickups! Dropped this one into my HSS Strat, replacing a PAF-Style pickup at the bridge. What an improvement tonewise - sparkling highs, exeptionally well balanced overall texture! Can‘t go wrong with these.
