Great bag for some nonstandard considerations My wife suddenly went blind over a year ago, and that required us to rethink many logistical issues, travel among them. We needed a bag large enough to handle our combined luggage and something I wouldn't have to wrestle with. I needed a free hand to help her in unfamiliar environments. This suitcase met both goals admirably. We were able to pack everything for a five-day trip, including formal wear and a custom pillow, with room to spare. Rolling the bag around was very manageable, and it has a large enough flat surface that my wife's carry-on could ride on top while we were moving. The free-swiveling four-wheel construction let me maneuver it easily and comfortably. I never felt like I had to manhandle it. Those were our specific goals, but there are a few other things to consider in deciding whether this is the right suitcase for your travel needs. The bag itself weighs a little over 15 pounds, and packed for five days, ours came in at 65 pounds. Depending on your airline, you may encounter overweight baggage fees, but since we were taking one bag instead of two or more, that may offset some of the cost. And while the bag is a dream to wheel around, physics is physics, you will notice the drag on carpet more because of the weight. We greatly appreciated the suitcase's design, and the construction is rock solid. These factors, along with our needs and the reputation of Briggs & Riley, have left us very satisfied with this purchase. So much so that I wanted to make sure to review it.

Beautiful but overweight
Beautiful construction but it’s too big to be checked luggage (by dimension) and very heavy when empty … meaning, unless you are filling it with feather pillows by the time you put 2 pair shoes and two packing cubes it’s over weight for check luggage.

Great super large bag with great compression
Great bag! The rollaboard is perfect. The compression mechanism is so great. After you pack bag beyond the brim you close it and press down, and everything gets neatly compressed to a manageable size. Love this mechanism! The extra-large expandable spinner is also great. It is very large, and one needs to be mindful of the weight. The bag is heavy, and it is easy to fill it so it weighs more than 70lbs. Be mindful of what goes in it. I love the size and the compression mechanism, same as the rollaboard. Wonderful bags!!!
