Slightly disappointing
I've used this coupling with both 3/4" and 1/2" conduit (with provided adapter shims), and I'm giving it 3 stars for 2 reasons: 1) As another review noted, this coupling does not join two pieces in a rigid, perfectly straight manner. It's not technically crooked, but because there is a slight wobble, the pieces can get very slightly crooked if not reinforced by other means. I was expecting this to be much more solid than the short coupling at hardware stores, but it wasn't much better in my experience. And I know that you can reinforce the connection with screws, but I haven't needed to do that with other fittings I've used, so I don't expect to need to do that with this one either. 2) When used with 1/2" conduit and adapter shims, the wobble is far more pronounced such that the pieces can easily get noticeably crooked. In fact, this is my general feedback on all 1/2" versions of Maker Pipe fittings with adapter shims. Because the adapter shims are plastic, the connection between the conduit and fitting are not as good as with 3/4" conduit. While this hasn't been as problematic in other fittings I've used (e.g., T connector, 180 degree connector), I still think that it is somewhat misleading for Maker Pipe to sell 1/2" versions by simply throwing in a couple of plastic shims when the quality of connection is just not the same. If I had known that there would be such a difference between the 1/2" and 3/4", I wouldn't have tried to use 1/2" for one of my projects; but instead, I ended up wasting a bunch of time and money with 1/2" conduit because I expected the fitting for 1/2" to be the same quality as 3/4". So I suggest they make fittings actually designed for 1/2" conduit, especially for the coupling.

Used for target stands. It allows you to cut a 5' cross beam down to 2.5' for transportability
I was looking for a way to cut down the size of my travel bag for carting my targets around. This allowed me to cut a 5 foot cross beam down to 2.5 feet which fits nicely in a bag. The Coupler then makes it 5 feet again. Even with weight of the 10" 3/8 AR500 steel gongs it keeps the bar straight.
