Saalt Disc

I used a saalt cup for many years, but my cervix position is lower now, and the stem became uncomfortable, even with trimming. The disc I'm reviewing here does work, and it isn't uncomfortable, but I don't find it as easy to use without spilling, and it's definitely a lot fiddlier to insert than the more rigid cup. I'm also workshopping how to more discretely clean it as needed when not at home. Because the sides are less rigid (presumably for comfort), although the capacity is substantial, the edges bend slightly as it is taken out, and I'm finding that that the disc spills as it's removed. This might improve with more practice, but physiologically...jury is out. I do like that I can continue to use this type of product, and do not have problems with leaking at all when it is in place (which is the point). Just...messy times in emptying.

Comfortable and useful but not for me

The disc was comfortable and I did not experience any leaking. This was my first time using a disc or cup so I was hesitant about leaking but that was not a problem. However, the emptying and cleaning process, especially on heavy days, was a bit too intimate/messy for me. I may continue to use the disc in one off situations (like a day at the beach) but won’t be something I use for regular period wear. No overnight leaking.

After using the smallest saalt cup for several years with about 80% success I decided to try out the smallest disc. On my first period it caught about 95% of the blood. I am hoping it will be 100% soon, but for now am continuing to use menstrual underwear for the occasional leak. I am very happy with my purchase.
