Old Chocolate

We purchased the dark chocolate-covered thin mint chocolates, but the mint filling was crystallized instead of smooth and creamy. We also bought the basic assorted collection. Unfortunately, several of the chocolates appeared to be dried out, with some discoloration that suggested they were beginning to dehydrate. Overall, we weren't impressed with either the flavors or the fillings. Out of the entire assortment, we found only two chocolates that we truly enjoyed. At this price point, we feel Russell Stover offers a better overall assortment and value, which is kind of sad. The sponge candy was decent, but that was the highlight of the purchase. We were genuinely hoping to love everything because we enjoy supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing, and we've had much better chocolates from other local chocolatiers as well as national brands.

Discolored chocolate.

I bought a box of assorted chocolates. When I received the cardboard box I found that the box of chocolates had no silver bow holding it closed. It was at the bottom of the cardboard box along with four pieces of candy. The candy had a white color to it. The other candy’s I bought were not like that. Will have to rethink buying that item again.
