Works really well with some fans
I've had Insteon controllers in my house for over 15 years. Initially used the Houselinc software for control, bypassed the hubs after a quick trial, and now use Home Assistant for control. The fan controllers have been installed on all of my ceiling fans that are indoors (5 of them). They have worked very well on fans that have a switch on the fan body to reverse them, but not so well on fans where the 'reverse' mode in controlled by a remote. They also worked well with fans with incandescent bulbs, and now with fans that have dimmable LED bulbs; but the ones that had 'dimmable' flourescent bulbs did not work well (only on or off). All of these fans have 3 wires coming from the fan housing (one for fan power, one for light power and then the neutral wire). I just acquired a new ceiling fan that has a remote and a different controller with only 2 wires from the controller to the fan. Seems to be some sort of digital signaling and perhaps A/C to D/C power conversion in the fan controller. So I don't think the Insteon is going to work for this.

Brought a Classic Casablanca Fan back to life
I have a beautiful 40 year old Casablanca Victorian Fan that has served us many years over 4 residences. I originally paid $425 at a home show for it in 1983, REALLY well-made fan, so I was not willing to just throw it in the trash! Finally the Intellitouch receiver stopped working, and the Intellitouch replacement parts are scarce to nonexistent. I was able to strip the old Intellitouch controller from the fan and light, I installed a capacitor inline with the motor, and a Fanlinc mounted to the old aluminum bracket of the Intellitouch board. The fan is back in service with 3 speeds that work perfectly (who needs 6 speeds anyway??) I linked it with my alexa echo system for perfect convenience- Fanlinc comes through!

It works?
Limited instructions. Like playing a video game to set up with multiple small buttons. It works, and I don't know why.
