Reliability is king

We have been using mostly Insteon Devices with an old Mac Mini as a server & hub. There is a mixed system of Insteon, X10, and Z-Wave devices here on Sojourn Farm. Currently, the server is running devices all over the farm, running a program called Indigo. The Mac server has a powerline interface and runs all of the devices controlling irrigation pumps, the front gate and other important functions in the main house, well house, garage, shed, barn and workshop. Because of the mesh nature of the Insteon devices, along with the ability to work with wireless as well as powerline wired operations, allows the reliability & flexibility to be better than any other control module system.
