Excellent all around

I’ve been using this pack continuously now for about a month and am loving it. Feels comfortable, with super smooth waist belt, and shoulder strap adjustments - the waist belt is particularly well designed for tightening and loosening. My 2L third party hydration pack is easily secured inside with an adjustable strap and hanging loop so it stays upright and in place. The hydration tube port out of the pack is well positioned and easy to open and reseal. Everything on this pack makes sense (accessible and roomy outside side pole pockets and zippered waist strap pockets, four zippered inside pockets, many gear attachment points, etc.) except the chest strap - it’s too high and rests on my throat, despite adjusting the shoulder straps for my height. To be fair, I’ve never had a pack where this was properly engineered, but then maybe it’s me. Additionally, the pack material is very tough, yet easy to keep clean, and does a great job keeping everything dry, even in substantial rain - kudos here as this was my main reason to purchase this model. Even the unusual midline zipper between the shoulder straps works remarkably well and is much more convenient than I expected. A side benefit of this configuration is that the strap padding provides quite good ventilation on your back as the it creates a long vertical airspace down your back. Overall Ortlieb has done a great job with this pack.

best back pack I have ever owned

Hey Ortlieb thank you so very much for this superbly engineered and constructed backpack. It is without a doubt the best backpack I have ever used or owned. It is not cheap but it is worth every penny. Many thanks
