Yellow Caliper Paint on new calipers
I've used regular POR15 chassis paint several times and have been happy with the result.
Not sure if my experience with the caliper paint could be improved using a different process. On a rough rusty surface regular POR sticks great. Instructions on caliper paint reccomend their degreaser and metal prep, which I used even on brand new calipers. Instructions claimed two coats, it took more four coats to get full coverage. Temperature was 70. I used a rough small chip brush, and this caliper POR seemed to not have as effective self leveling properties as the glass smooth ive experienced before. Im sure if they had been used calipers it would have worked better. In the future, I will go a different route if calipers are brand new, but I'd try this product again on old used/rebuilt rusty calipers. I dont see why POR high temp would work on calipers, but the caliper paint has colors, I chose the yellow. Definitly chips over a week later, where as regular por only gets harder with time. I imagine it was the calipers being brand new and not as good adhesion. If it fails, ill let them corrode for a year and try POR caliper paint again.
