Just purchased new Geisswein house slippers to replace a pair that are ~6 years old (and still decent shape. LOVE THEM). I ordered directly from Geisswein website —not through a reseller.
Quality of new slippers have diminished greatly:
*Insoles- New pair have no noticeable arch support: constructed of a cushy foam base with thin wool-looking cover. Pre2020 pair have thick, solid, pure wool insoles with a thin latex perimeter shaping band.
*Outer shell- New pair is thin wool. Pre2020 thicker, sturdy feeling wool shell. *Weight- New pair 303 grams, Pre2020 320 grams
*Labels- New pair interior label (under insole) indicates ‘designed in Austria’, but doesn’t say where materials are from or where they slippers were made… from the look and feel guessing China. Pre2020 pair have no interior labels at all.
VERY DISAPPOINTED. Never buying again.
