AK 3rd Gen Thinner

Miracle product for......Tamiya Acrylics (trust me - read the review)

If, like me, you don’t mind airbrushing Tamiya acrylics but would rather chew tinfoil than brush-paint it because it goes on way too thickly, is unspreadable or unretouchable once applied (yes, I’m making up words), AND dries way too quickly on the palette, then this is your miracle cure. I can’t take credit for the idea – I read an article online – but I can confirm that this really really works. Start with a 1:1 ratio of this thinner to Tamiya acrylic, and it transforms the Tamiya from an unruly beast to actually one of the most pleasant brush-painting experiences I’ve had. The paint goes on evenly and thinly and yet with complete coverage, you can spread it with your brush after it’s been applied (what a concept!), you get a previously-unheard of 15 minutes of working time (at least), and yet it still dries reasonably quickly on the model (i.e. you're not waiting days), and once it’s dry, it’s as durable as without the thinner. I was able to hand-paint a figure using multiple colours with multiple applications, and new coats didn't lift previous ones, either. So with this thinner, no need to fear brush-painting Tamiya acrylics anymore!

I tried this AK thinner after using Vallejo for a while and it works just as well as far as I can tell.
