Works as advertised - with or without ball. One thing I've discovered is that it really accelerates the fairly difficult single arm swing drills. These drills are critical to training impact but cause frustration if starting off of turf - particularly the lead arm only swing drill. Done daily on the DivotBoard (inside or outside) will progress the user 2-3x faster.
