Quality control Issues?
I have been using Sunline Siglon PEx8 for years. I used to consider it the best braided line available. In my most recent purchase, I ordered a large ~1800 yard spool in 10# test high visibility orange. In short, this recently purchased line has given me nothing but trouble. It arrived with much less saturation/vivid hue to the orange dye than I have received in smaller spools. But the real problem has been unexpected breakage. I use this line with an 8# flourocarbon leader, connected with an FG knot. Without exception, when hung up on the bottom, the 10# Siglon has snapped prior to my 8# leader breaking. Every. Time. The Siglon has not even failed at the splice knot, but somewhere further up the line between my rod on the knot. It is difficult to be precise, but I have been fishing for 50+ years and I would estimate that the 10# Siglon from the large spool I purchased has been breaking at approximately 4#. This experience, combined with even more horrendous experience I had with a spool of 10# Sunline Almight (breaking far below stated line strength), has prompted me to to stop using Sunline entirely and switch to another line manufacturer. I concluded, that at the very least, Sunline is having severe quality control issues. No one is going to waste time purchasing and spooling line that they no longer trust, and I certainly fall into that category.

PEx8 braid is awesome
I've mainly used this braid for finesse bass fishing applications on spinning reels. It casts wonderfully due to its thin diameter and smoothness. For the size I use the abrasion resistance is great. With a fluorocarbon leader the sensitivity is amazing. An FG knot secures my leader and I have yet have it fail, as long as I tie the knot properly. The orange color doesn't seem to spook shallow bass as much compared to chartreuse and is still highly visible.
