5 stars for the Shampoo Bar - a little goes a long way on my mid length hair. I've been using popular brand shampoo bars for a few years and this one is the best by far. My fine gray hair is left squeaky clean. 1 star for the Conditioner Bar - mostly due to user error. Like other reviews stated, it left my hair with a greasy, waxy residue that I had to shampoo out with liquid shampoo. After consulting with Krystina, I tried using it again on only the ends of my hair, avoiding the top of my head completely. That made a huge difference! That being said, it's still not the right product for my hair type and I have switched to the liquid conditioner.

I have curly 2B hair and this did not work for me.

My initial experience with this product was the overwhelming smell. I could smell the package in my mailbox as I was walking up to get it. Upon opening the package, I noticed that the conditioner bar had partially melted, and I thought perhaps that was why the smell was so overpowering. I immediately took the bars into my bathroom so I could use when I showered the next day. They could be smelled throughout the house (1200 square feet home) even with the bathroom door closed. I was a little worried but thought nothing of it. Unbeknownst to me, my partner and child also were overwhelmed by the smell, but they thought a neighbor must be using really strong drier sheets (that is what these bars smell like). Nonetheless I was so excited to use them and did so the next day. Yes the smell was extreme and overpowering and did not fade at all in my hair, but I was willing to put up with it if I found a curly shampoo and conditioner bar that I could use instead of making my own. I am not sure what type of curl this would be good for, but these bars made my hair feel like I hadn’t washed it in two weeks. It weighed down my curls and just made them look lanky. (I have 2B hair down to my waist, and generally I call it my lion’s mane). I thought maybe it was the conditioner bar (and I blamed it for being the super smelly one anyway), so I decided that my next shower I would only use the shampoo bar. Well, it was slightly better just the one bar, but not enough for me to ever recommend to anyone else. I’m trying to think of who I can give them away to, and trying not to think of how much money I just dropped on something I’m trying to give away. I’ve got the curliest hair I know, I don’t know anyone with curlier hair that I can give used shampoo/conditioner bars to. There’s my two-cents, and I wish I would’ve read feedback like this before making my purchase 😔
