I love my boots! They fit well from the get go and they look and feel great! They fit snug around my calfs. Believe me , they stretch.

These are Very Good Boots
I've enjoyed my Alvies so far but I have a few criticisms to go along with my praises. First, the company vibes are awesome. The packaging and branding are as good as any in the business, especially at this price point! Second, Eva is customer support was very helpful. I asked if the blue and white Alvies stickers were for sale because I would like to pick up a couple of extra. She told me that at them moment, they were not for sale on the website. Now for a couple of observations since I have been wearing my Lamars off and on for several weeks. I got caught away from home and my boots got a little wet. The boots developed a strong odor of oils or chemicals. I've never had that happen with other boots. Also, the finish became a little blotchy and the color of the sole edges and heels became a lotte mottled, even after drying out. Now, these boots did not get soaked and I didn't step in a puddle. They just got rained on for less than a minute. After the boots dried, I used a cleaner to remove any leftover waxes from the factory that might have been on the leather uppers. I decided to go ahead and prepare the boots for sole savers, so I stripped the finish from the soles, sole edges, and heels. I then refinished the soles and heels with a lighter brown (which I really like much better than the factory finish) and then I added the sole savers. Once that was finished, I prepared the boots with Saphir Renovateur and then Saphir Creme Universelle to recondition the leather. To be honest, I think they are now BETTER than new. I don't know where the odor came from or why the dye seemed to run. The fit of the boots is good but the toe spring is taking a little to get used to. The boots are breaking in nicely but they are not perfectly comfortable on my feet from day one. The insole is rather comfortable but I wish that it was removable. Maybe a hard leather insole and a removable leather topped insole in the future would be great! I know these additions and changes will increase the cost of the boot and might push it out of the range of some people, so maybe a few new boot designs with upgrades might be doable in the future? I still have my eyes on two more Alvies boots: BFGs in Whiskey Runner Brown and a pair of Shoal Creeks, Shaken not Stirred. My Lamar boots are very well made. The uppers are butter smooth with minimal stitching (which I love!), the linings are top notch and well executed, and the soles seem tough as can be. I hope this company is around for a long time and will continue making fine boots the Austin way! Quint

These look even better in person than they do in the photos, and they are breaking in quickly and comfortably. I have a feeling these will become my favorite boots!
