The monitor stand was able to raise by monitor to eye point over 3 inches . i didn't have enough clearance with my current configuration to just raise the monitor stand up another notch. So i turned repurposed the iPad stand. Turned it backwards and placed on top of the stand to gain addition 1.5 inch. Repurposing items always works for me :).

Perfect accessory!

I know this piece is for a monitor specifically and not a laptop riser. However, I decided to go ahead and see how it works to raise up my laptop (15 in macbook) when I use an external keyboard and mouse (while still using the laptop monitor). It turns out it works perfectly! It's small enough to be out of the way and still allows me to use my laptop without accessories, too. Flexible, sturdy, and works perfectly as a laptop riser, too!
